The Texas Chain Saw Massacre: All Main Characters And Their Voice Actors

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre: All Main Characters And Their Voice Actors

Brought to life by legendary horror director Tobe Hooper in 1974, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre launched a new slasher icon to prominence with Leatherface. And now the same studio behind the Friday the 13th video game, Gun Interactive, has returned with the official asymmetrical video game adaptation for this classic horror franchise with a cast full of horror icons.

Although they’re all dealing with Leatherface in the game, some of these actors have faced Michael Myers in the past and portrayed other killers from popular horror film series. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is already quite the treat for horror game fans, but an even better experience with this group behind characters.

11 Narrator – Aaron LaPlante

When it comes to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, the radio narration describing the gruesome acts committed by Leatherface and his family becomes an iconic part of the film, and the game wouldn’t feel the same without it. The narrator here is Aaron LaPlante, best known for playing one of the most outstanding merchants in gaming – Resident Evil Village’s The Duke.

Another voice credit in a horror game for Aaron LaPlante is The Callisto Protocol, and he’s the voice of the main character Spear in the animated prehistoric survival series Primal. You can also find him in the animated show Tiger & Bunny as Rock Bison and in anime such as Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War and Bastard!! Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy.

10 The Cook – Troy Burgess

A split-image of The Cook swinging a weapon inside the house in-game, and actor Troy Burgess pointing to his character on a poster for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

A far more interesting collaboration than the rest of the cast who have experience in the horror genre, Troy Burgess, voicing the family member known as Cook, comes from a theater, singing, and dance background. In fact, he’s performed as a dancer for musical artists like Cher, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, and Paula Abdul.

In the theater world, Burgess portrayed Johnny Cash in Ring of Fire and Dennis Dupree in Rock of Ages productions and was an ensemble cast member in the Broadway musical Aida by Elton John and Tim Rice. He’s also guest-starred on television shows like Glee, Swedish Dicks, and Crocodile Shoes.

9 Victim Connie Taylor – Bryarly Bishop

A four-image collage of Connie from the skills menu, Bryarly Bishop's character Amelia from Circus Electrique, Claire sitting in a space ship Claire de Luneand her in the short film South Down 79.

Actress and musician Bryarly Bishop plays one of the female victims available in the game, the Daisy Dukes-dressed Connie Taylor. And this isn’t her first video game voice performance. Bishop has voiced Amelia in the turn-based RPG Circus Electrique from Saber Interactive and the titular character Claire in Claire de Lune, an indie sci-fi FPS puzzle-platformer.

She stars in a post-apocalyptic survival Podcast series called We’re Alive: Descendants as Dot, but also noteworthy about Bryarly Bishop is her work on many different short film projects. Some of those films include South Down 79 as hitchhiker Tess, Warmthness as Delilah, and Übel as Mia Schumacher.

8 Victim Leland McKinney – Matt Lowe

A four-image collage of Leland from the selection menu, Lowe's character Ritchie Doucet tied to a Ferris Wheel in Mafia 3, Kristoff in Disney Dreamlight Valley, and his character Meatball with a Metallica shirt in Hart of Dixie.

One of the male victims you can play as, former high school wrestler Leland McKinney, is a treat for Mafia 3 fans and Hart of Dixie fans as it’s none other than Matt Lowe lending his voice. On Hart of Dixie, Lowe played band member Meatball, and in Mafia 3, Lincoln Clay saw he met an end on the Ferris Wheel as villain Ritchie Doucet.

In addition to these projects, Matt Lowe appeared in an episode on The Walking Dead, is the voice behind Ares in Netflix’s Blood of Zeus, Tyler in Don’t Nod’s Twin Mirror, and Disney character Kristoff in Dreamlight Valley. And who can forget his character Hippo on the Disney Channel show A.N.T. Farm?

7 Johnny – Damian Maffei

A four-image collage of Johnny from Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Damian's character in Strangers: Prey at Night, his character in Haunt unmasked, and a picture of him from a film.

Though Johnny looks like your average greaser, seemingly a character straight out of The Outsiders with his shoulderless black tee, he’s the newest addition to the Sawyer family and is a brutal killer you don’t want to encounter. This family newcomer is portrayed by Damian Maffei, an actor who’s been behind the masks of various notable slashers in modern horror cinema.

Maffei took the helm of being the new “Man in the Mask” for The Strangers: Prey at Night, the 2018 sequel to the home invasion horror/thriller The Strangers. Other roles where he dons the costume of a killer are 2019’s Haunt from A Quiet Place writers Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, as well as the Ghillie suit deer skull-masked Morgan in 2021’s Wrong Turn reboot.

6 Sissy – Kristina Klebe

A three-image collage of Kristina's character Sissy in-game, the operator IQ from Rainbow Six Siege, and her character from the movie Tales of Halloween.

Also unlike Cook and Hitchhiker, Sissy is a new female killer making her debut in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre video game, with a disturbing grin and her behavior stemming from her life bouncing between cults, including the infamous Manson clan. And her actress is Kristina Klebe, usually the opposite of this character in the horror films she’s been in.

Klebe has starred as Laurie Strode’s friend Lynda in Rob Zombie’s Halloween, Detective McNally in the 2015 anthology film Tales of Halloween, and co-starred with Dolph Lundgren as Agent Evelyn Pierce in Don’t Kill It. She’s also voiced video game characters like Director Frau Helene in Wolfenstein 2, Counselor Jenny Myers in the Friday the 13th game, and Operator IQ in Rainbow Six Siege.

5 Victim Sonny Williams – Zeno Robinson

Four-image collage of Sonny from the skills menu, character Dee Jay from Street Fighter 6, Fogado aiming a bow on a mount in Fire Emblem: Engage, and actor Zeno Robinson throwing a peace sign in an interview.

The other male victim you can select from in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is Sonny, who has a phenomenal veteran voice actor behind him. He’s described as the most hard-working student of the victims, and actor Zeno Robinson certainly has the experience with his character Nino Lahiffe in Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir.

Robinson has a stellar resume with too many credits to mention across games and anime. His most notable roles include Jamaican fighter Dee Jay in Street Fighter 6, Thrash from the animated Transformers: Earth Spark series, Fogado in Fire Emblem Engage, characters Hawks and Deidoro Sakaki from My Hero Academia, and Goh from the long-running Pokemon animated show.

4 Victim Ana Flores – Jeannie Tirado

A four-image collage of Ana Flores from the skills menu, Rosemary Winters in RE Village, Byleth from Fire Emblem, and actress Jeannie Tirado in an interview for Saints Row.

Getting all the other victims wrapped up in the harrowing experience of trying to recover her sister Maria is character Ana Flores, voiced by Jeannie Tirado. The Duke is not the only character from Resident Evil Village joining The Texas Chain Saw Massacre cast, for Tirado is the older version of Rosemary Winters at the end of the game and the Shadows of Rose DLC.

Other video game characters you may recognize Jeannie for are Byleth from the Fire Emblem series, Neenah from the Saints Row remake, and Tao Isonokami from Shin Megami Tensei 5, among countless others. Tirado is also the main character Kim in the kid-friendly animated show FriendZSpace, Volcana from Max’s Harley Quinn show, and Principal Arroyo from Disney and Pixar’s jazz film Soul.

3 Hitchhiker – Edwin Neal

A four-image collage of Hitchhiker as appearing in the game, Hitchhiker from the 1974 movie, Edwin Neal as Splatter in Future-Kill, and a photo of the actor from IMDB.

Hitchhiker is the iconic villain who shows up at the beginning to help lure the victims to Leatherface and his family, so not only can you play as him in the game, but he’s voiced by the original actor for the character in the 1974 film – Edwin Neal! And in addition to his horror contributions, Edwin Neal has lent his voice to many other video games.

Edwin voiced characters Killer Croc, Two-Face, and Harvey Bullock in DC Universe Online, Ghor in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, and minor voice credits in Deus Ex: Invisible War and Wasteland 3. If you’re a classic sci-fi horror fan, you might be familiar with Neal’s role as the metallic-armored killer mutant named Splatter in the 1985 movie Future-Kill.

2 Victim Julie Crawford – Scout Taylor-Compton

A three-image collage of Julie from the character menu, Scout's character Laurie Strode held by Michael Myers with a knife in Rob Zombie's Halloween 2, and Scout as her character possessed in The Long Night.

Voicing playable victim Julie is Scout Taylor-Compton, a career horror film actress ever since her roles in Wicked Little Things and both installments of Rob Zombie’s Halloween remakes as Laurie Strode. You’ll see her across an enormous variety of horror projects that are more B-movie, like Flight 7500, 247ºF, Ghost House, Feral, and Shudder’s The Long Night – to name a few.

Before breaking into horror, Scout Taylor-Compton guest-starred in Charmed, Gilmore Girls, and played Farrah in the 2004 comedy Sleepover. She also portrayed musician Lita Ford of The Runaways in the 2010 biopic film, co-starring with Kristin Stewart and Dakota Fanning.

1 Leatherface – Lex Lang

A four-image collage of Leatherface, Dr. Neo Cortex from Crash Bandicoot, Candlemaker from Doom Patrol, and actor Lex Lang in a recording session.

The quintessential part of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and the man of the hour – Leatherface – is voiced by the game’s co-director Lex Lang. And the performance capture was done by legendary horror actor Kane Hodder, who’s definitely no stranger to playing iconic slashers in cinema. Hodder most prominently portrayed Friday the 13th’s Jason Voorhees and the axe-wielding monstrosity Victor Crowley from the Hatchet series.

Lex Lang, meanwhile, is a legend in voice acting. Aside from being the iconic Crash Bandicoot villain Dr. Neo Cortex and Blue Dragon in the anime, Lex is Suguru Geto from Jujutsu Kaisen, Candlemaker in DC’s Doom Patrol on Max, The Doorman in Curious George, Poe Dameron in Star Wars Battlefront 2, and Ecliptor from Power Rangers in Space.
