Thiax secures PSV Hafnium backing for real-time X-ray inspection technology
Danish deeptech spin-out Thiax has secured investment from PSV Hafnium to accelerate the rollout of its groundbreaking non-destructive 3D inspection technology for polymer and composite parts. The funding marks a major milestone in the company’s mission to transform quality assurance in high-performance manufacturing.
In industries such as aerospace, quality control has long depended on destructive testing and techniques like ultrasound. While these approaches can confirm failure or detect simple defects such as voids, they often fall short in revealing root causes or measuring critical parameters like strain and crystallinity. This limitation has left manufacturers with incomplete insights into the integrity of their materials.
Thiax aims to bridge this gap by integrating advances in X-ray diffraction with multispectral X-ray detectors and 3D measurement technology. The result is a compact, production-ready instrument capable of delivering three-dimensional, depth-resolved visibility into the internal microstructure of polymers and composites. This capability allows manufacturers to inspect material behaviour non-destructively and at industrial speed, directly on the factory floor.
