Obsbot Meet 2 review: This tiny 4K webcam is simply great
Obsbot Meet 2 Review: Tiny 4K Webcam with AI Glow-Ups That Actually Work
The Obsbot Meet 2 is probably the smallest 4K webcam I’ve ever tested. Mounted magnetically to your laptop or monitor, this pocket-sized powerhouse delivers surprisingly impressive image quality—though the company’s stick-on privacy shutter solution feels like a step backward.

The Meet 2 comes in three colors: gray, white, and a metallic “aurora green.” Inside the box you’ll find the webcam, magnetic mount, and a generous 4.5-foot USB-C to USB-C cable (with USB-A adapter included).
Design and Build Quality
Measuring just 1.78 x 1.4 x 0.87 inches and weighing only 1.5 ounces, the Meet 2 is remarkably compact. The magnetic mount is the standout feature—three sides of the camera are magnetic, allowing you to easily switch between landscape and portrait orientation. However, this same magnetic connection feels precarious, especially on laptops where cable movement can cause the camera to shift or even fall off.
The camera includes a standard threaded hole for external mounting if you prefer a more secure setup. While the magnetic system works well on desktop monitors, it’s less reliable on portable devices.
Software Experience
Obsbot continues to offer one of the most sophisticated webcam software packages available. The 450MB Obsbot Center control software provides extensive customization options, though it can conflict with other camera-using applications.
The AI-powered beauty filters are genuinely impressive—options include face slimming, virtual makeup application, nose positioning adjustments, and even eye rotation. The “smoothing” features can make you look unnaturally youthful if cranked up, but subtle adjustments produce natural-looking enhancements.
The software is comprehensive but somewhat bloated, containing features for other Obsbot camera models that don’t apply to the Meet 2.
Image Quality and Performance
The Meet 2 features a 1/2-inch CMOS sensor with f/1.8 aperture. In my testing, it delivered excellent results in various lighting conditions—from my dimly lit basement office to naturally lit living room shots. The PDAF autofocus is quick and accurate.
I didn’t notice dramatic differences between 4K and 1080p resolutions in typical use cases, though the 1080p/60fps preset looked fantastic. The digital zoom controls are particularly well-implemented, allowing smooth adjustments to frame composition.
The two omnidirectional microphones perform admirably, capturing clear voice audio while minimizing background noise—a crucial but often overlooked aspect of webcam performance.
Should You Buy It?
Yes, if: You want premium software features, AI enhancements, and don’t mind the magnetic mount quirks.
Maybe not if: You need rock-solid mounting or prefer an integrated privacy shutter.
At around $100, the Meet 2 sits at the higher end of the 4K webcam market. While you can find cheaper 4K options, the combination of hardware quality and software sophistication makes this a compelling choice that could easily earn a spot among the best webcams available.
