The Galaxy Buds 4 fix two of my biggest problems
Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 Pro: The Tiny Design Tweaks That Fix My Biggest Pet Peeves
As a die-hard fan of the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, I wasn’t expecting much from the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro when Samsung announced them alongside the Galaxy S26 series at Galaxy Unpacked. Don’t get me wrong—the sound quality improvements, enhanced ANC that blocks even more noise, and the more natural-sounding ambient mode are all great. But those aren’t what have me most excited.
No, what really has me pumped to try the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro are two seemingly small design changes that address the only two issues I’ve had with the Galaxy Buds 3 series. These tweaks might seem minor, but for anyone who uses their earbuds daily, they’re game-changers.
Better Comfort and Charging Experience
Let’s start with comfort. The Galaxy Buds 3 Pro have a small vent at the top of each earbud to help regulate air pressure inside your ear. While this is a thoughtful feature, the vent’s rough texture and flush positioning can irritate your ear, especially if you’re wearing them for hours at a time. I’ve found this to be a minor but persistent annoyance.
The Galaxy Buds 4 Pro have recessed the vent into the casing of the earbud, eliminating that irritating texture against your skin. My colleagues who’ve tried them report zero comfort concerns, and I’m eager to experience this improvement firsthand.
But the bigger win? The charging case redesign.
No More Charging Nightmares
One of my biggest frustrations with the Galaxy Buds 3 series has been the inconsistent charging. Unlike older models, the Buds 3 series have the buds sit upright inside the case, with the charging pins at the bottom of a tube where the earbud stem sits. Here’s the problem: dust, skin cells, and other debris easily find their way into this area, preventing your earbuds from charging properly.
Almost every day, I’d wake up to a notification on my phone saying one of the buds wasn’t charging. I’d have to take them out, blow into the case, and put them back in—a ritual that’s as annoying as it sounds. As I joked to a friend, “If I had a nickel for every time I woke up to only one earbud charged, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.”
The Galaxy Buds 4 series has gone back to the traditional case and charging pin layout. This makes it far easier to see if debris has gotten into the charging contacts and ensures the buds line up properly. It’s a simple fix, but it relieves a ton of frustration.
Why These Changes Matter
The Galaxy Buds 4 and 4 Pro look to be the best earbuds Samsung has made so far, and that’s saying something. Samsung’s earbuds have long been one of my favorite parts of the Galaxy ecosystem, and I can’t wait to add the new ones to my collection.
These tiny design tweaks might not sound revolutionary, but they’re the kind of thoughtful improvements that make a product truly great. They show that Samsung is listening to user feedback and refining its products based on real-world use.
So, are you as excited to try Samsung’s latest earbuds as I am? Let me know in the comments!
