Google might be undoing some controversial changes to the Photos app

Google Photos is about to get a major makeover—again! In a surprising twist, the tech giant is rolling back some of the controversial changes it made to the app’s photo editor last year, much to the delight of frustrated users. But that’s not all—Google is also testing a brand-new Explore feed that looks suspiciously like TikTok. Here’s everything you need to know about these exciting updates.

Google Photos’ Photo Editor: A Return to Familiar Territory

Last year, Google Photos celebrated its 10th anniversary with a complete redesign of its photo editor. Quick-access buttons for Enhance, Dynamic, and AI Enhance features will remain, ensuring that the best of both worlds is maintained.

For instance, the Help Me Edit field is being replaced by a YouTube-like “Ask” button to save space. When tapped, it opens an input box for users to type their requests. Another minor but noticeable change is the addition of pill-shaped highlights around action names, which are now emphasized when selected. These small touches make the app feel more intuitive and user-friendly.

TikTok-Inspired Explore Feed: A New Way to Relive Memories
