In a world where recruiters spend endless hours dialing numbers, leaving voicemails, and repeating the same screening questions, Ghent-based AI startup Ringtime is stepping in with a bold solution: an autonomous AI agent that handles the entire recruitment conversation from start to finish. With a fresh €1.8 million seed round led by Volta Ventures, Ringtime is poised to revolutionize how blue-collar workers are hired—and even how property viewings are scheduled.

The Pain Point: Broken Communication in Blue-Collar Hiring

Blue-collar recruitment is notoriously inefficient. A warehouse operative might apply on Monday, hear nothing by Tuesday, and accept another offer by Wednesday. Meanwhile, recruiters waste precious hours leaving voicemails and running through identical screening questions with candidates who may never pick up. This broken communication loop leaves both sides frustrated.

Ringtime’s answer is an AI agent that orchestrates inbound and outbound conversations end-to-end. It determines the candidate’s preferred communication channel, language (supporting 22 languages), and optimal contact time. Then it converses, screens, and matches—without any human recruiter on the line.

From Cheqroom Founder to AI Recruitment Pioneer

Ringtime was founded in September 2025 by Vincent Theeten, best known as the founder of Cheqroom, a Belgian equipment management software company with clients like Google, Airbnb, and Fox Sports. After stepping back from Cheqroom’s CEO role in late 2024, Theeten turned his attention to the recruitment challenge.

He co-founded Ringtime alongside Johan Krijgsman (owner and CEO of ERA Belgium and Alfabet), Michiel Vanhaverbeke, and Diederik Syoen (former Head of Marketing at Cheqroom).

Beyond Recruitment: Property Viewings and More

The company’s technology is already being used by ERA Belgium to manage property viewings, allowing prospective buyers to book visits automatically outside office hours and on weekends—without agent involvement. According to Krijgsman, several properties have been sold with Ringtime handling the entire scheduling process.

This early expansion into real estate illustrates Ringtime’s broader ambition: to become an orchestration layer for any sector where contact volumes are high and time pressure is acute.

Impressive Early Traction

Ringtime reports €400,000 in annual recurring revenue with clients including staffing firms Trixxo Jobs, Synergie Jobs, and House of HR. The company plans to use the new capital to expand its product team, ramp up marketing, and build new features specifically aimed at blue-collar hiring.

“Ringtime is evolving into a complete, intelligent solution for connecting technical candidates to the right job across sectors, languages, and geographies,” said co-founder Diederik Syoen. “We’re building the infrastructure that brings supply and demand together faster than the market can do on its own.”

The Bigger Picture: Europe’s Blue-Collar Vacancy Crisis

Europe faces a structural labor shortage in logistics, hospitality, and retail that has persisted despite—and in some analyses, because of—AI-driven disruption to white-collar roles. The problem isn’t primarily matching candidates to jobs; it’s a communication infrastructure problem. Traditional HR tools were built for a workforce that communicates via email and polished CVs, not for workers who stack shelves or drive vans.

What’s Next for Ringtime

With fresh capital in hand, Ringtime plans to expand into the Netherlands, UK, and Germany. At just six months old, it represents an early bet on whether an AI-native voice and messaging layer can bring the same efficiency gains to physical-world hiring that software has delivered to the office economy.
