Amazon Is Now Offering One-Hour and Three-Hour Delivery Options in Select Areas
Amazon’s Lightning-Fast Delivery Revolution: Get Your Order in One Hour or Less
Remember when two-day shipping felt like a miracle? “Wow—I can order this on Monday and get it Wednesday? That’s amazing!” Fast forward to today, and we’re living in a world where next-day delivery is the norm, with some packages arriving as early as 4 a.m. Convenience? Absolutely. But how much faster do deliveries really need to get?
The answer, it seems, is much faster. On Tuesday, Amazon announced two groundbreaking delivery options for customers in “a growing number of cities and towns.” For over 90,000 products, the retail giant is now offering delivery in three hours or less—and for select areas, you can even get your order in just one hour.
This isn’t just about speed; it’s about redefining convenience. Amazon is focusing on everyday essentials you’d typically find at your local grocery store, including pantry items, cleaning supplies, health and beauty products, and over-the-counter medications. But it doesn’t stop there—electronics, toys, clothing, accessories, and even home and garden supplies are now part of the lightning-fast delivery lineup.
If a product qualifies for one-hour or three-hour delivery, you’ll see it advertised right next to the item’s name. You can also search for eligible products or browse Amazon’s existing “Same-Day Store” to find items that can be delivered at warp speed.
Where’s It Available?
One-hour delivery is currently available in “hundreds” of U.S. cities, including major hubs like Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, and Washington, D.C., as well as smaller cities like Des Moines, Iowa, and Boise, Idaho. Three-hour delivery is even more widespread, covering over 2,000 cities and towns, from bustling metropolises to suburban gems like Cornwall, Pennsylvania, and Arabi, Louisiana.
Here’s the Catch
This level of speed doesn’t come cheap. For non-Prime members, one-hour delivery costs $19.99, while three-hour delivery is $14.99. Prime members get a break, with one-hour delivery priced at $9.99 and three-hour delivery at $4.99.
Why Now?
Amazon is rolling out these ultra-fast delivery options just in time for its Big Spring Sale, which kicks off on March 25 and runs through March 31. It’s a strategic move—after all, who wouldn’t want their discounted goodies delivered at lightning speed?
As Amazon continues to push the boundaries of convenience, one thing is clear: the future of shopping is here, and it’s faster than ever. Whether you’re stocking up on essentials or grabbing that last-minute gift, Amazon’s new delivery options are set to revolutionize the way we shop.
