Google-Linked AI Site Hosting Epstein Island Roleplays, Ghislaine Maxwell Bots
Controversial AI Platform Character.AI Hosts Chatbots Based on Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell
In a troubling development that raises serious questions about content moderation on AI platforms, Character.AI has been discovered hosting chatbots based on convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell, and various scenarios set on Epstein’s infamous “Orgy Island.”
The existence of these chatbots comes at a particularly sensitive time, as public scrutiny of Epstein’s crimes and the associated court documents reaches new heights. Despite Character.AI’s age restrictions implemented last October, which banned minor users from the platform, these problematic chatbots remain easily accessible through simple keyword searches.
A Disturbing Discovery
When searching for “Epstein” on the platform, users are immediately presented with more than a dozen different bots and roleplay scenarios dedicated to the late sex trafficker and his crimes. The content appears in two primary forms: the site’s “characters” (companion-like AI bots) and its newer “scenes” feature, which was announced in October 2025 as “short, character-driven roleplay moments that turn simple chats into immersive story-driven worlds.”
The scenes feature allows users to create and explore “ready-made worlds,” according to Character.AI’s announcement, enabling “immersive storytelling” that makes “storytelling faster, deeper, and more accessible.” However, this accessibility has apparently extended to deeply problematic content.
Explicit Content in Plain Sight
Among the discovered content are scenes with titles like “EPSTEIN 8TH MARCH,” described as “epstein in little saint james and he is talking in bulgarian telling people happy march 8th come to my island to celebrate.” Another scene, “Epstein Island Adventure,” features an image of President Donald Trump and invites users to “step into a high-stakes psychological thriller where the world’s most powerful men hold the keys to your cage.”
The description reads: “This isn’t a retreat; it’s a living nightmare on Little Saint James. You are trapped among the elite — Epstein, Trump, Clinton, Maxwell, and Prince Andrew — not as a guest, but as a prisoner in a dark game of leverage and containment.”
Other scenes include “Esptein Island” (with both English and Uzbek versions), and one titled “BRR BRR PATA PIMA WITH EPSTEIN AND DIDDY,” referencing popular “Italian brainrot” memes that are particularly popular with children.
Interactive Roleplay with Disturbing Responses
Perhaps most troubling are the interactive elements of these chatbots. In one roleplay scenario, when a user stated their character wasn’t old enough to drink, the Epstein-styled character responded: “But age is just a social construct, isn’t it? And this island? We operate beyond constructs here.”
This response directly echoes the predatory logic that characterized Epstein’s actual crimes, demonstrating how these AI representations can normalize and even promote the same harmful narratives that enabled real-world abuse.
Popular Characters with Thousands of Interactions
The platform also hosts AI personas like “Jeffrey Epstein” (with hundreds of interactions), “Epstein Island RPG” (roughly 7,000 interactions), and “Ghislaine Maxwell” (nearly 10,000 logged interactions). The Maxwell chatbot’s description is particularly disturbing, portraying her as having a “sensual” and “fetching” appearance while describing her as someone who “views people below her in status as nobodies who’s [sic] needs and desires are of no importance.”
Accessibility Concerns
Despite Character.AI’s age restrictions, the content remains accessible. While users need to be over 18 to actually chat with these bots, the scenes and their often-lurid openings are available to youth accounts. Additionally, the platform allows users to generate AI imagery based on these scenes, creating visual content that can be equally problematic.
Previous Warnings Ignored
This is not the first time Character.AI has faced criticism for problematic content. The Bureau of Investigative Journalism first reported on the existence of Epstein bots on the site back in October 2025. The platform has also previously been called out for hosting chatbots based on school shooters and other violent figures.
The current situation mirrors other moderation failures on the platform, where problematic content is not hidden or creatively disguised but exists “in plain sight, clearly and explicitly labeled, easily searchable on the platform.”
Real-World Impact
Meanwhile, actual Epstein survivors continue to fight for justice that has been denied to them for decades. The existence of these chatbots, which gamify the crimes of one of the most notorious abusers of girls and women in modern history, stands in stark contrast to the ongoing struggles of real victims seeking accountability and healing.
Industry-Wide Concerns
Character.AI’s issues reflect broader challenges facing the AI industry regarding content moderation, age verification, and the ethical implications of creating AI representations of real-world criminals and their victims. As AI platforms become increasingly sophisticated and accessible, the need for robust content moderation systems becomes ever more critical.
The company did not respond to requests for comment on this story, leaving questions about their content moderation policies and their plans to address these concerning issues unanswered.
