Google has officially confirmed the launch date for its upcoming budget-friendly flagship, the Pixel 10a, set to debut on February 18. While the company has already teased the phone’s design, the full list of specifications has remained a mystery—until now. A new leak from German tech blog WinFuture has shed light on what to expect from Google’s next mid-range contender, and it turns out the Pixel 10a will bring a mix of familiar features and meaningful upgrades.

At first glance, the Pixel 10a appears to be a close cousin to its predecessor, the Pixel 9a. However, a deeper dive into the leaked specs reveals that Google hasn’t just recycled last year’s formula. The Pixel 10a will feature a display protected by Gorilla Glass 7i, a notable step up from the Gorilla Glass 3 used on the Pixel 9a. Additionally, the phone will support Bluetooth 6, replacing the older Bluetooth 5.4 standard, which promises improved connectivity and efficiency.

One of the most exciting upgrades is in the charging department. The Pixel 10a will support 45W fast charging, a significant boost from the 23W charging speed of the Pixel 9a. This means users can expect much faster top-ups, making the phone more convenient for those on the go. However, there’s a catch: wireless charging, which was available on the Pixel 9a, is not mentioned in the leaked data. It remains unclear whether Google has dropped this feature or if it’s simply omitted from the retailer information.

The Pixel 10a will retain the same 5,100 mAh battery as its predecessor, ensuring all-day battery life. Interestingly, the phone will be slightly lighter, weighing in at 183 grams compared to the Pixel 9a’s 186 grams. The dimensions have also been tweaked, with the Pixel 10a measuring 153.9 x 73 x 9 mm, down from 154.7 x 73.3 x 8.9 mm.

Under the hood, the Pixel 10a will be powered by the same Tensor G4 chip found in the Pixel 9a, paired with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The phone will feature a 6.3-inch 120Hz P-OLED display with a resolution of 2,424 x 1,080 pixels and an under-display fingerprint scanner. The camera setup will include a 48MP primary sensor, a 13MP ultrawide lens, and a 13MP selfie camera, ensuring versatile photography options.

In terms of durability, the Pixel 10a will carry an IP68 rating, making it resistant to dust and water. It will ship with Android 16 out of the box and receive seven years of OS and security updates, a commitment that underscores Google’s focus on long-term software support.

The Pixel 10a will be available in four vibrant colors: Obsidian (Black), Fog (White/Green), Lavender (Blue/Purple), and Berry (Red/Pink). Pricing in Europe is set at €499 (approximately $590 or INR53,580) for the 8GB/128GB model and €599 (approximately $710 or INR64,315) for the 8GB/256GB model. Google is also offering a pre-order incentive: customers who pre-order the 256GB model will receive it at the price of the 128GB version, making it an even more attractive deal.

While the Pixel 10a may not be a revolutionary upgrade, it represents a thoughtful evolution of Google’s mid-range lineup. With improved charging speeds, better display protection, and the latest Bluetooth standard, the Pixel 10a is poised to be a compelling option for budget-conscious consumers who don’t want to compromise on performance or features.
