When asked why Traveling Matt wouldn’t have recognized the Moon from his time in outer space, Tartaglia offered some intriguing possibilities. “Perhaps he did see it, but only as a thin crescent, and did not equate the two. Or maybe it was that he was ‘so forward-driven’ that he never bothered to look up.” This clever narrative device allows the Fraggles to discover the Moon alongside the audience, making the learning experience both engaging and relatable.

“We realized that one of the Doozers would have to become puppet-size,” Tartaglia revealed. “The real Doozers are six inches tall, and they are animatronic. They’re teeny, and now they get to have their glory as hand puppets.” This creative solution not only solved a logistical challenge but also gave the Doozers, the industrious builders of Fraggle Rock, a chance to shine in a new way.
