The New Ultrahuman Ring Pro Has a Surprisingly Feature-Filled Charging Case

Ultrahuman Ring Pro: The Smart Ring That’s More Than Just a Ring

Ultrahuman has just unveiled its latest innovation in wearable health tech: the Ultrahuman Ring Pro. While the ring itself is impressive, boasting cutting-edge sensors and a sleek design, it’s the charging case that’s truly turning heads. This isn’t just a place to power up your ring—it’s a fully functional health companion in its own right.

Breaking Down the Specs

The Ultrahuman Ring Pro is packed with features that put it ahead of the competition:

  • 15-day battery life: That’s more than RingConn and nearly double what Oura offers.
  • 250 days of onboard data storage: Never worry about losing your health metrics.
  • Sizes 5 to 14: A wide range to fit almost any finger.
  • Faster processor: Ultrahuman claims this enables more accurate data processing.
  • Emergency break points: The ring can be easily cut apart in emergencies.

Physically, the Ring Pro looks similar to its predecessor, the Ultrahuman Ring Air. It features a smooth internal surface with no sensor bumps and a small flat area at the base of the finger for optimal contact.

The Charging Case: A Game-Changer

Here’s where things get really interesting. Ultrahuman has transformed the humble charging case into a multifunctional device that could revolutionize how we think about smart ring accessories.

Why is this such a big deal? Smart rings have limitations—they can’t easily incorporate features like alarms without adding bulk and reducing battery life. But a charging case? That’s a different story entirely.

The Ring Pro’s case comes equipped with:

  • LED indicators for at-a-glance status updates
  • Wireless charging capabilities
  • USB-C port for traditional charging
  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting features, including a hard reset button
  • Space to store up to a year’s worth of ring data, which can sync to your phone later

But perhaps the most brilliant design choice? The case isn’t sized to the ring. Instead, the ring attaches magnetically to pins on a post, leaving empty space around it regardless of the ring size. This means if you ever need to replace the case, you won’t have to hunt down a specific size.

The U.S. Market Roadblock

If you’re in the U.S. and excited about the Ring Pro, I have some disappointing news: it’s not available here yet. And the reason is more complicated than you might think.

About a year ago, Oura filed a claim with the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), arguing that its smart ring patent covered the design of nearly every smart ring on the market. The ITC agreed, forcing companies like Ultrahuman to pull their products from U.S. shelves.

Ultrahuman responded by developing a new ring design that it believes is different enough to avoid patent infringement. The Ring Pro appears to be that design, featuring what Ultrahuman calls its “unibody architecture” rather than the transparent lining found in many competing rings—a feature specifically mentioned in Oura’s patent.

When asked about U.S. availability, an Ultrahuman spokesperson told me via email: “We are working through the necessary steps to bring Ring PRO to our U.S. customers and hope to share good news soon.”

Why This Matters

The Ultrahuman Ring Pro represents more than just another wearable device. It’s a glimpse into the future of health tracking, where every component—even the charging case—is designed to enhance your wellness journey.
