vivo shares X300 Ultra camera samples ahead of expected launch
Vivo X300 Ultra Camera Samples Leak Ahead of March 30 Launch — 200MP Sensors, 400mm Teleconverter, and More
Vivo is gearing up for the global launch of its highly anticipated X300 Ultra 5G, and the camera hype just reached a fever pitch. After teasing the device’s imaging specs earlier this week, the company has now dropped a full set of camera samples via its official Weibo channels — and they’re nothing short of spectacular.
In a series of posts by vivo’s Han Bo Xiao, the brand revealed detailed shots captured using the X300 Ultra’s beastly 200MP Sony LYT-901 main sensor, a 200MP Samsung HP0 periscope telephoto, and two external teleconverter lenses offering 200mm and 400mm reach. These aren’t just teaser shots — they’re full-resolution, daylight-tested images that showcase what could be one of the most versatile mobile camera setups of 2025.
200MP Sony LYT-901: 30% More Light, Unmatched Detail
The primary camera is built around a 1/1.4-inch Sony LYT-901 sensor with a 35mm equivalent focal length. According to vivo, it captures up to 30% more light than its predecessor, promising superior low-light performance and richer detail in bright environments. Sample images show exceptional clarity, vibrant color science, and impressive dynamic range — hallmarks of vivo’s imaging expertise.
200MP Periscope Telephoto + External Teleconverters
Where things get wild is in the telephoto department. The X300 Ultra features a 200MP Samsung HP0 periscope lens capable of delivering lossless zoom at long distances. But vivo didn’t stop there — bundled with the device are clip-on teleconverter lenses offering 200mm and 400mm optical reach. These magnetically attach to the back of the phone and work seamlessly with the native camera app, enabling extreme zoom for wildlife, sports, and action photography.
Sample images taken with these attachments reveal stunning detail at distances that would normally require a professional DSLR and telephoto lens. Vivo is clearly targeting mobile photography enthusiasts and content creators with this pro-grade setup.
50MP Ultrawide and Multispectral Sensor
The X300 Ultra also includes a 50MP Sony LYT-818 ultrawide camera with a massive 1/1.28-inch sensor, promising edge-to-edge sharpness and excellent low-light performance. Rounding out the array is a rumored 5MP multispectral sensor, likely aimed at enhancing color accuracy and scene optimization.
Expected Launch: March 30 in China, Global Rollout to Follow
According to recent leaks, the vivo X300 Ultra will be officially unveiled in China on March 30, with a global launch to follow shortly after. Given the camera firepower and vivo’s aggressive expansion in international markets, this could be one of the most compelling flagship releases of the year.
