A YouTube Music app is now available for Garmin smartwatches. Frequently requested by wearable users, the streaming service joins other music and podcast providers like Spotify, Deezer and Amazon Music, which are already available for Garmin wearables in app form.
YouTube Music provides access to over 100 million songs, with Google claiming it offers various exclusive live recordings and remixes. Features include a range of curated playlists, automatically generated playlists based on your taste and dedicated activity mixes. As with other versions of YouTube Music, content will be organized in a Library, where you can view songs you have liked and added. Plus, for YouTube Music Premium or YouTube Premium subscribers, you can download playlists and podcasts to your watch, meaning you can listen to content without your phone. It is also worth noting that non-subscribers will be served ads while listening.
The app is compatible with a wide range of models, including the Forerunner 255 Music, the Fenix 7, the Instinct 2 and the Venu 3; a complete list of compatible smartwatches can be found in the app listing. You can download the YouTube Music app via the Garmin Connect IQ Store.
