Internet Falls in Love With ‘Unique’ Chihuahua Staffy Cross Breed—’Chihuaffy’

A dog owner showing off a mixed canine has taken the internet by storm with the rareness of the breed, believed to be a Chihuahua Staffy Cross Breed, or “Chihuaffy,” as one observer named it.

Owner Alicia, who is known on TikTok as @ovary_athletics, told Newsweek via TikTok that her dog was rescued from the puppy mills in Russia. The pup was brought to a foster home in Estonia before Alicia finally decided to adopt her and bring her home for good.

“The lady first told us that our dog was a Chihuahua mixed with a dog with a flat nose, probably a Griffon, but she looks nothing like a Griffon,” Alicia said. “She is very wide and sturdy so I really thought she is like some kind of pit bull or bulldog.”

Everything clicked for Alicia when she found out what Staffordshire bull terriers look like when they eat, run and wag their tails and she came to the conclusion that her small dog is a Chihuahua and Staffie mix. Although, she has not completed a doggy DNA test to confirm her guess.

The mixed breed shown in the June 23 TikTok clip captured the internet’s attention with the dog’s buggy eyes staring into the hearts of viewers. The dog is quite a chunk, but everyone is obsessed with her 14-pound stature.

The dog could be a Chi Staffy Bull, a hybrid canine that is an alert and intelligent dog, according to Wag Walking. They’re excellent watchdogs too as both Chihuahuas and Staffordshire bull terriers are known as protectors.

While stubborn at times, Chi Staffy Bulls are brave, curious and often affectionate dogs, which came as a surprise to some TikTok users. One viewer mentioned this tiny must be fiesty, but Alicia assured them her dog is “super chill.”

However, Alicia explained that her dog doesn’t know her own strength, waddling around the house and stomping her large paws while giving kisses.

Until she has it tested we’ll never know how unique it is.

‘Best Parts of Both Breeds’

The TikTok video quickly gathered 139,000 views, 12,500 likes, and 166 comments as of Tuesday. To say people are obsessed would be an understatement.

“Omg literally 50/50 mix. This is kind of hilarious,” said a viewer, while another wrote: “oh my God I’m obsessed. I never knew I needed this breed mix.”

A third person commented: “Omg this dog has the best parts of both breeds.”

Others have flooded the comment section with potential names for this crossbreed: “Please say it’s called a Chihuaffy.” Additional names suggested include staffahuahua and chawaffy.
