Galaxy Watch 7 Could Come With Blood Glucose Monitoring To Help Keep Track Of Serious Health And Heart Conditions

With the Unpacked 2024 event almost a week away, the buzz around the upcoming products is on the rise, especially the next-generation foldable and the wearables that will be unveiled. The Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra are expected to be rolled out with the rumored AI integrations. While the watches are said to feature significant health upgrades, recent news about the biggest life-saving features coming to the models is also doing the rounds.

The new health sensor coming to the Galaxy Watch 7 series could help detect early signs of heart attack, giving some serious competition to the upcoming Apple Watch Series 10

Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch 7 Ultra have grabbed quite the eyeballs with their advanced health features and the squarish design of the Ultra series, which mirrors the Apple Watch Ultra. Now, the latest report by Android Authority claims that the series may be able to let users know if they have underlying signs of a potential disease.

While speculations regarding the smartwatches coming with features that could help monitor the user’s blood glucose have been coming up every now and then, with the latest insight, the leaks seem to match up. The report came about after digging into the recent Samsung Health app update and noticing the existence of advanced glycation end products index (AGEs) through the UI. Since the feature is in the experimental stage, it is currently listed as (Labs), and we are still waiting for official confirmation on the work-in-progress code turning into a feature.

With the AGEs index, users can keep track of their metabolic health and evaluate how the overall body is aging in an easy-to-understand format rather than a complicated layout of numerical measurements. If there is a higher level of AGEs sense, it could indicate an above-normal blood glucose level in the user’s body. Even though the user interface gave away the possibility of the next-generation Galaxy Watches having the new sensor, we are not certain which models would include the health advancement.

The feature is very useful for people who use smartwatches to track their health as their age progresses. This non-invasive technique could help detect conditions that point towards heart attack, diabetes, strokes, and other serious health diseases with no complications attached. There is still ambiguity on which models would support the feature, but given the potential health and wellness tracking facility the blood glucose monitoring could hold, such an upgrade coming to the new wearable models could help Samsung take the lead in smartwatches and shake the position of the upcoming Apple Watch Series 10.
