HMD View leaks with metal frames and OLED display

HMD Global has confirmed new phone announcements for July. Leaks have already offered a glimpse of the high-end HMD Skyline with a retro Nokia Lumia design and a powerful 108-megapixel camera. Now, leak source @smashx_60 has shed light on another upcoming phone, the mid-range HMD View.

The HMD View departs from the flashier designs of some competitors, opting for a more subdued aesthetic. The phone is expected to feature a metal frame with a slightly rounded design, a fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button, and a rectangular camera module with two lenses and an LED flash. Color options are reported to include Meteor Black, Ice, and Velvet.

In terms of size, the HMD View appears to be a successor to the Nokia X30, offering a relatively compact 6.4-inch display by current smartphone standards.

This mid-ranger is rumored to boast an OLED display with a 1080p+ resolution. The camera department is said to be anchored by a 50-megapixel main sensor accompanied by an unspecified secondary lens. Keeping the phone powered is expected to be a 4,700 mAh battery.

The HMD View is tipped to run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset. This new 6nm ARM processor utilizes a combination of two high-performance ARM Cortex-A78 cores clocked at up to 2.3 GHz and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores running at 2.0 GHz. At least one variant of the HMD View is rumored to come equipped with 8GB of RAM.

While details on pricing and launch date remain under wraps, the leaks paint a picture of a mid-range phone offering a compact design, an OLED display, a capable 50-megapixel camera, and a long-lasting battery.

With HMD Global confirming new phone reveals in July, it likely won’t be long before we get official details on the HMD View and its place in the company’s smartphone lineup.
