Mumbai was pounded by relentless rain early this morning, with some areas receiving over 300 mm of rainfall in just six hours from 1 am to 7 am. The heavy downpour led to the diversion and cancellation of several trains, as reported by Central Railways. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is tirelessly working to alleviate waterlogging throughout the city.

As a result, commuters faced daunting challenges getting to their workplaces, with widespread train delays affecting all parts of the city. However, amidst these trials, social media emerged as a beacon of fun. Memes flooded timelines, offering comic relief to Mumbaikars and reminding them they’re not alone in their rain-soaked struggles. #MumbaiRains has been trending since Monday morning, with ‘X’ bursting with hilarious content and on-the-ground footage.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, and the Konkan region, warning of continued heavy rainfall and potential flooding. Vikhroli’s Veer Savarkar Marg Municipal School and MCMCR Powai recorded the highest rainfall, surpassing 315 mm in the past 24 hours.
