Dave Hall calls himself the human flute. We all have an instrument built into our system and that’s what I consider whistling to be like an instrument. Dave is attuned to the wind and things that fly. Dave has fun, spreading fun around whether it be selling Frisbees, which is his work or whistling, which is his hobby. Ever since I was *** little kid, I decided that it would really be great to be in the Guinness Book of World Records. And I never really came up with anything that was, uh, that was quite appropriate for me until this past year. What we haven’t told you is that Dave Hall is also *** dreamer. All right, folks, everybody at home join in now because we’re going to help the Happy Whistler. David Hall. We hope said *** Guinness Book of Records record, *** San Francisco talk show hosted the Whistle Off last April Fool’s Day. The joke was on the unbelievers who knew Dave couldn’t endure for 24 hours. Come on, what they didn’t know was Dave had been working out for the event months before he did it by climbing on board. Bart. He says it’s *** perfect place to practice. My name’s Harpo, the Happy Whistler. And I’m here to entertain you this afternoon. He looks like *** cosmic Harpo, except this Harpo talks whistles and travels with his audience. Some remain uninspired. Others are simply blown away. People are looking for something exciting to happen on the train because it’s usually just AAA sterile environment of, you know, business as usual and there’s just something about the sound that’s so delightful. I feel that uh that it turns people on. Thank you. Thank you very much. I was so high and so totally confident that uh never do. I think it wasn’t going to happen after 24 hours, Dave finally reached his goal. 321. All right, Dave Hall from Davis earned *** place in the record books after it was all over his mouth and jaw were sore, but at least the champagne was sweet. On April 1, 1983, Hall was invited on a talk show to set the inaugural record for endurance whistling. In front of a live studio audience, Hall began his attempt at whistling greatness. He whistled nonstop for over a day and finally breathed his last whistle at 24 hours, 10 minutes and 15 seconds.
