Some El Pasoans with Spectrum internet found themselves without service most of the afternoon, Tuesday, July 16.
A spokesperson with Spectrum, the second largest cable operator in the United States, said the outage was not widespread, but affected a specific neighborhood for about seven hours. On social media, some residents in East El Paso, noted the outage.
According to Spectrum, the teams were notified about the outage around 1 p.m.
“Our crews responded to the impacted area and noticed a fiber optic cable had been cut. Further investigation into the issue showed the damage was caused by a non-Spectrum company who damaged the line during construction,” a spokesperson said in an email.
All services were restored by 8 p.m.
