LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) —
Everything at the Lynchburg Regional Airport is back to normal after the major global internet outage. However, if your final destination isn’t Charlotte, then you may be in trouble.
There are multiple cancelations and delays right now across the country. Lynchburg Regional Airport officials said they only had two delays this morning.
Flights got back to normal in about an hour, said Cedrick Simon, the assistant airport director at the Lynchburg Regional Airport.
“They are trained with backups and the aviation systems have backups in general so while there were some delays and there may be delays in other parts of the system, they are professionals and they are getting us back up and running as fast as possible,” he said.
Simon said the Lynchburg systems are all back up and running. At one point he says the airlines were manually doing bag tags because of the outage.
Travelers are mostly impacted if they have a connection.
