SVC Chaos now available on Steam, releases next week on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch

During Evo 2024, it was announced that SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos is being rereleased for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. It turns out that the game is available right now. Shortly afterwards, Kevin Rian was announced for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.

SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos was originally released back in 2003. This one-versus-one crossover fighting game featured a total of 36 characters from SNK and Capcom.

Characters featured in SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos include Terry Bogard, Kyo, Ryo, Mr. Karate, Iori, Geese Howard, Mai Shiranui, Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Chun-Li, Zero, M. Bison, Demitri, and many more.

While there were also Capcom vs. SNK fighting games released, this was the version of the collaboration headed by SNK. Needless to say, the news of SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos returning like this is good news for those hoping for a Capcom vs. SNK 3 someday.

According to the SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos Steam page, the game is being sold at $19.99.

SNK has confirmed the crossover fighter will be launching on other platforms early next week with PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and GOG versions scheduled to release on Monday, July 22.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that SNK’s Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui would be joining the Street Fighter 6 roster Season 2 along with M. Bison and Elena. Terry is slated to be released in Fall 2024 while Mai is scheduled for a Winter 2025 release window.

The SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos rerelease will also feature rollback netcode and a tournament modes to enhance online experiences. A hitbox viewer and gallery mode are also included.

Besides the surprise reveal of this game, SNK also just announced Kevin Rian for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves along with Vice and Mature coming as the special DLC characters for King of Fighters 15 later this year.

Once again, it’s certainly a promising sign to see that Capcom and SNK are willing to collaborate. Perhaps we’ll see more collaboration between these two companies should this rerelease perform well enough.
