Some Tampa Bay travelers are still facing flight delays and cancellations after a cybersecurity software glitch disrupted global airline operations on Friday.
âWe are feeling some residual impacts from yesterdayâs events,â Tampa International Airport spokesperson Joshua Gillin said. âSome of our partner airlines have said that this remains an issue to some extent.â
He encouraged travelers to check with their airline for their current flight status.
The airportâs online flight status tracker shows dozens of delayed and cancelled flights from airlines including Delta, Silver, American, Southwest, United and Spirit. Another tracker, FlightAware.com, showed nearly 80 delays and 30 cancellations into and out of Tampa International Airport just before noon
At the smaller St. Pete Clearwater International Airport, all but one flight appears to be on time. A spokesperson for Pinellas County said Allegiant was the only airline impacted, and that since Friday night, things have returned to normal.
