10 Baldur’s Gate 2
There are a lot of RPGs like Baldur’s Gate that take a lot of inspiration from Dungeons & Dragons, and with the sheer volume of weapons available in D&D, it is no surprise that players of Baldur’s Gate 2 get a lot of choices in this area.
To this day, players continue to argue over which weapons are the best in Baldur’s Gate 2, but some amazing options include a variety of the “Bastard Swords” in addition to the many bows, clubs, staffs, spears, flails, halberds, and plenty more weaponry that is available in many types and fashions.
Over the last decade and more, the medieval style of this giant game has prompted players to try and find countless ways in Skyrim to fight and build new, diverse characters. From unarmed builds to using wooden swords with enchantments on them and everything in between, there are a lot of options for the best weapon in Skyrim.
Players can build characters that only use one of the five magical disciplines, or focus on smithing weak weapons, there are one-handed and two-handed options, archer builds, and players have almost unlimited potential. They’ve managed to create endless overpowered and underpowered builds in Skyrim, providing endless fun.
8 Elden Ring
Every Soulsborne game seeks to provide players with numerous ways to tackle the many enemies the game faces off with. Straight and curved swords of multiple varieties, reapers, fists, whips, and ballista, there are some unusual weapon types like colossal ones that RPGs don’t often see in games available in Elden Ring.
Whether players would rather have speedy or hefty builds for their character, there is an entire category called colossal weapons and another for simple claws. The options are nearly endless for ways players can prepare themselves to get crushed by the savage world of Elden Ring.
7 Fallout 4
One of the more modern-style RPGs that has a vast array of weapons available to players, Fallout 4 has a great deal of focus on shooting combat and a lot of gun types for players to try out, while also having many options in the world of melee combat.
Players who become powerful enough can immediately behead super mutants with a shiv, or they can fire literal nuclear weapons from their hands at enemies. The world of Fallout 4 is a strange one, but the options are nearly limitless in how players choose to handle their enemies, there are some truly incredible weapons within.
6 Borderlands 3
Trying to find every gun alone in Borderlands 3 would take players a ridiculously long time. The uniqueness of the weapon options, in addition to the sheer fun of Borderlands 3, makes it certain that players will rarely tire of the combat throughout.
All the elemental types of damage that can be inflicted, as well as the styles of weapon, from SMG to sniper rifle, makes Borderlands 3 one of the very top games in the world for a variety of guns, beating out thousands of others as players continue trying to decide which maker of guns is the best in the game.
5 Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
The Star Wars games have a leg up on many of the medieval RPGs when it comes to the sheer volume of weapons. Besides the 24 types of blasters available throughout Knights of the Old Republic, there are also much larger ranged weapons, over thirty kinds of blades, not to mention droid weapons and more, from beginner weapons to amazing late-game ones.
All of this is in addition to the fact that players get to have lightsabers to use, which is always one of the best parts of any Star Wars game, and there are options there as well for the design of the weapon. Players have a huge amount of exciting choices throughout Knights of the Old Republic.
4 Yakuza: Like A Dragon
The weapons in Yakuza: Like A Dragon are incredibly unique, for a game that emphasizes the potential to fight in hand-to-hand combat, Like A Dragon makes a big deal out of players’ weapon creations. Every job has a unique weapon attached to it, and these have to be upgraded.
Weapons are first to be upgraded using the Romance Workshop, and later for any weapon in the game to be mastered, players will have to find another weapon to fuse it with. This level of work helps the game have a sense of uniqueness to the weaponry throughout.
3 Dragon Quest 11
There are a lot of RPGs that have similar weaponry to that of the Dragon Quest franchise, but the incredible thing about the weapons in Dragon Quest 11 is the huge number of options in each of the regular classes. There are over forty different kinds of swords that players can use to fight alone.
Players can also choose to use one of a variety of wands, boomerangs, spears, whips, claws, and much more. Dragon Quest 11 is an amazing game loved by the RPG community, and the ridiculously large choice of weaponry is just one of the reasons why.
2 The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
The Legend of Zelda’s most recent entry, Tears of the Kingdom, has evolved fully to the style of an RPG. While the franchise has long rested on the edge of proper RPG games, the latest entries leave nothing in doubt as they fully envelop the genre.
Tears of the Kingdom has a massive array of weapons available, from pitchforks to deity swords, which are among the legendary weapons. Throughout the game, players will get to see Link trying out almost anything they wish to use to fight with, from torches to royal weapons and enormous Claymore swords.
1 Pokemon Ultra Sun And Moon
Technically, in the Pokémon franchise, each Pokémon is a completely individual and unique weapon. This means that they have more options for variety in weapon terms than almost any other RPG game in existence, especially ones with larger Pokedexes.
Ultra Sun and Moon are known for having some of the very largest Pokedexes for players to fill out in the whole franchise, despite being one of the darkest games. While each Pokémon isn’t technically a weapon so much as a companion, they are what players use to fight in the RPG franchise.
